„Stirn an Stirn. Nase an Nase. Hand an Hand. Oberschenkel an Oberschenkel. Die beiden Frauen stehen so dicht beieinander in dem kleinen Lichtkreis des Spotscheinwerfers, dass sich ihr Atem mischt. Die Augen sind geschlossen. Könnte man die Distanz zwischen ihnen messen, der Wert würde bei null liegen…
Die Körper der Frauen lösen sich Stück für Stück voneinander, und im Raum breitet sich … ein Spannung aus, die nicht mehr und nicht weniger als die Grundambivalenz menschlichen Lebens enthält: Wir suchen nach Nähe, aber sie beengt uns, und wenn wir völlig frei sind, sidn wir allein.“ So schildert Bert Strebe seine ersten Eindrücke von ZERO in der Hannoverschen Allgemeinen Zeitung.
ZERO, Krise, Wendepunkt. Wir beginnen nicht mit Antworten, sondern mit Fragen – und wie so häufig ergibt es sich, daß wir damit mitten in den Verwerfungen der Gegenwart landen. ZERO ist eine Reise zum Nullpunkt, zum Shutdown – eine Reise zu den persönlichen Nullpunkten und Krisen ebenso wie zu den großen Bedrohungen unserer Zeit, die Ende sein können, aber auch Neubeginn.
Die ersten Idee zu dem neuen Projekt mit Minako Seki und Yumiko Yoshioka haben wir schon ein Jahr vor der Corona-Krise zusammen getragen. Und so bildet nicht diese den Haupt-Negativ-Pol unserer Arbeit, sondern der Atombombenabwurf auf Hiroshima und Nagasaki, schließlich sind die beiden Tänzerinnen Japanerinnen. Die Erfahrungen, die sich den Japanern buchstäblich eingebrannt haben, hat ihre Kindheit geprägt wie die Schatten des zweiten Weltkriegs sich über der Kindheit derer lag, die im Deutschland der 1950er Jahre geboren wurden. Aber das ist nur der eine Pol unserer Arbeit. ZERO im Sinne des japanischen Ku steht für die Idee des Nichts, der Leere als Möglichkeit und Potenz. Zwischen diesen Polen osziliert unser Stück und entwickelt sich kreisförmig wie das Leben in konzentrierten Tanz-Bildern.
Mit ZERO setzt COMMEDIA FUTURA die künstlerische Zusammenarbeit mit den Tänzerinnen und Choreographinnen Minako Seki und Yumiko Yoshioka fort, die 2017 mit der erfolgreiche Produktion TWO begann, die in der EISFABRIK Hannover und im Dock 11 in Berlin für ausverkaufte Vorstellungen sorgte und u.a. auf den Festival TANZtheater INTERNATIONAL in Hannover und tanztausch Köln zu sehen war.

The women's bodies separate bit by bit and a tension is dispersing in the room which contains nothing more and nothing less than the basic ambivalence of human existence: We are longing for nearness, but it hems us in, and when we are absolutely free, we are alone." That's how Bert Strebe discribes his first impressions of ZERO in his reviwe for the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung.
ZERO, crisis, turning point. We don’t start with answers, but with questions - and, as it is often the case, we end up in the midst of the upheavals of the present. ZERO is a journey to shutdown - a journey to personal zero points and crises, as well as to the great threats of our time, which can be the end, but also a new beginning.
COMMEDIA FUTURA had the first idea for this new project with Minako Seki and Yumiko Yoshioka directed by Wolfgang A. Piontek, a year before the coronavirus crisis. So it was not this virus that formed the main plot of this work, but the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After all, the two dancers are Japanese. The atomic bombs have literally burned out the Japanese collective soul and shaped their childhood, as the shadows of World War II hovered over the childhood of those born in Germany in the 1950s.
But that is only one pole of this work. ZERO in the sense of Japanese Ku stands for the idea of nothing, of emptiness, as possibility and potency. Our piece oscillates between these poles and develops in a circle, like the dance of life cycle.
With ZERO, COMMEDIA FUTURA is continuing its artistic collaboration with the dancers and choreographers Minako Seki and Yumiko Yoshioka, which began in 2017 with the successful production TWO, which caused sold-out performances in the EISFABRIK Hannover, Dock 11 in Berlin and among others, at the TANZtheater INTERNATIONAL festival in Hannover and Tanztausch Cologne.
