Tommy Lexxus (Bassism Records | Higher Ground | Sub FM | VOID Berlin) is a veteran Drum & Bass and Dubstep DJ, celebrating 25 years of turntable experience. He is the lead engineer at Bassism Records, plays multiple instruments and produces multiple genres within his spectrum of tastes. Since moving to Berlin from San Francisco seven years ago, Tommy has brought his sunny Californian aesthetic to the German capital. With residencies at VOID Berlin and Higher Ground, Mr. Lexxus also hosts Bassism Radio on Sub FM. Even year he volunteers for the ‘DNB in Berlin’ collective at the anti-gentrification parade “Wem Gehört Die Stadt”. This year however, his philanthropic focus has turned to helping his favorite clubs earn some extra revenue during the lockdown.
Tommy first played at Gretchen in Box 2 for Upzet’s birthday party, with Diemantle headlining. Then later he had the pleasure to perform in Box 1 for Phaelah. “I’ve always had a lot of respect for Lars, Pamela, the Recycle Crew & the entire Gretchen staff. Gretchen reminds me of iconic (pun intended) clubs in San Francisco, where I came into my own as a tastemaker. Getting the chance to curate an exclusive set for the Recycle stream is quite an honor for me.”
Because of Corona, Gretchen is closed since mid-March. That is why we are now presenting music, together with our beloved artists, from the club into the living rooms of the world. If you like it, we would be happy to receive donations at the "virtual bar" to compensate for the total loss of income.
