We are happy to have the DARK REAL DARK Crew again behind our decks - this time pretty bassy with RBYN and 65 SHAPESHIFTERS.
Right after hearing the first Dubstep tracks in 2006 RBYN bought two turntables, a mixer and a handful of vinyl. Technical equipment, skills or music genres may have changed but the love for music with lots of bass still remains 14 years later. So after playing numerous DJ gigs in Germany and organising parties in Berlin he now manages his own vinyl imprint "Through These Eyes", which focuses on Drum & Bass and Jungle music, but you can always hear influences from genres like Hip Hop, Footwork or Dubstep in it.
65 Shapeshifters bought his first pair of decks in 2008 after being introduced to the world of drum and bass. Nine years later he founded the label & collective DARK REAL DARK, with the intention to offer a platform for creatives of all art forms. In 2018 he became a resident at the infamous Berlin based event series Begrime. Being a household name in the local bass music scene, 65 Shapeshifters played support for artists such as Om Unit, Homemade Weapons, Sinistarr, Danny Scrilla and many others. His musical journey has taken him overseas to places such as Bristol and New York as well as multitude of festivals across Germany.
Because of Corona, Gretchen is closed since mid-March. That is why the club is now presenting music from the club into the living rooms of the world. If you like it, Gretchen would be happy to receive donations at the "virtual bar" to compensate for the total loss of income.
