SOFORT Festival invites you to watch an open session of Tunezooming, a unique online space for Tuning Scores research and practice.

Tunezooming was born as a natural “RESITUATE*” when the global unison “PAUSE*” was called by Covid19. The simple click-on-a-link access created perhaps the most consistent practice opportunity over a span of 21 months (ongoing), 2 times a week for 1.5 hrs, with folks in wildly different locales, seasons, timezones, languages and tuning styles. As ever, we learn as we “GO*”.
In March 2020 at the start of pandemic lockdown, Sakura Shimada proposed a zoom gathering to an international group of experienced Tuners from a 2019 residency held at Tic-Tac in Brussels. Earlier 2020 Tuning on zoom experiments between Karen Nelson, Rosemary Carroll and Lisa Nelson led to offering a time and place for the larger group to tune into Sakura’s proposal. Numerous artists and viewers have migrated through the Tunezooming room; it’s always a surprise who will show up.
